NAME THAT QUILT -- CONTEST WINNER

The Creative Quilters of Citrus County completed the 2004 top. It looks fabulous, and was basted at the Symposium. After a warm reception at the Boca meeting, it was taken home by Harriet Rudoff for binding, a label, and a sleeve. Thanks to Harriet for including all the block makers on the label! The quilt is 64" x 64", and has blocks that use a wide variety of quilting techniques to depict Florida counties.  Has an appraised value of over $3,000.

Get tickets from:  Sarah Hough, 3100 Country Club Dr., Lynn Haven, FL 32444.  Tickets are only $1 each.

You may:

  • Send the money to Sarah and ask her to fill in your stub for the drawing OR
  • Include an SASE to have the tickets sent to you, then be sure to return the stubs. They must be back before Sept. 28 if mailed for the drawing.

Why not take several tickets and maybe you’ll win this beautiful quilt! Or get enough tickets to put all your friends’ names in the drawing….now wouldn’t it be a wonderful surprise to win this quilt?

Thanks to Ginny King at Queen Ann’s Lace for showing the quilt this summer. It will be in the Jacksonville area, at quilt shops and entered in QuiltFest, until it arrives in Daytona to be awarded a permanent home on Oct. 2.

When you print the picture from the website, please consider making an extra one to give to another member who can't print one. The drawing will be held at our Fall Annual Meeting in Daytona,  October 2, 2004.

We need someone to be QUILT NANNY: take care of the finished quilt and help get it around to groups & shops who will sell tickets, have it in their show, etc. We can pass it around, "pony-express" style, so you don't have to take it everywhere yourself...just keep track of it!

To ask for the quilt in your area, or volunteer as Nanny, contact Sue Gulkis   suesew@aol.com

See details about the Daytona Beach meeting Oct. 1 & 2, 2004.
