In addition to being a teacher, lecturer, designer and author, Carol is the owner of The Laser's Edge, a laser engraving business that specializes in custom templates for quilters. Carol has been teaching for over 20 years. She has won many ribbons, not only for her minis, but other works as well. She has taught at the Houston Quilt Show, Mancuso Quilt Show and NQA Annual Shows. She was the Chairman of the NQA Certified Teachers for four years. She is teaching on Quilt University, an internet school. Carol is a Sulky certified teacher, and recently has been featured on PBS America Sews with Sue Haussmann.

Her classes on Miniature Quilts enables even the beginner to create a realistic, dollhouse size quilt. However, students may select the size they want, from Miniature to Small Wall hangings. Most classes are half-day sessions. One pattern per student is provided with each class.
“Drunkard's Path” , mini to full size, and “Curves & Swerves” , full size only, classes do require a class fee for the set of templates needed. No mileage within 100 miles, just a travel trailer park is needed. Lectures include, "So You Really Want To Make a Miniature?" trunk show and “Things your quilt teacher never told you”.

Carol’s new book, “Drunkard’s Path takes a Little Turn” teaches the World’s Easiest method to create fabulous Drunkard Path quilts. From miniature 3/4” pieces to full-size 3” pieces.

Her latest designs have been featured on PBS America Sews with Sue Hausmann, the Perfect Oval and Full Circle patterns. Other new designs include the Apple Blossom, Star Rays and a fabric Tea Cup & Saucer patterns. A popular design is the “Curves and Swerves” acrylic templates which are used to easily make perfect curves. Patterns include Hearts, Clamshells, Curves, Circles and other blocks in 2” and 3” pieces.

Individual, pre-cut miniature quilt patterns are also available by mail order. Grandmother's Flower Garden in 1/4" pieces, the Apple Core in 3/4" pieces, Mariner's Compass in 1-1/2" size and many others in various sizes. The 5" Giant Dahlia is spectacular!

Carol's suggestions for the majority of guild members, even those not interested in Miniatures, but would like to make a Small Quilt or Wall hanging:

1. Mini Drunkard's Path - easy, fun and technique can be used for full size quilts. Sewing Machine is required. Class fee of $5.00. Half day class.

2. Full size Drunkard's Path - easy, fun and accurate. Sewing Machine is required.
Class fee of $5.00. Beginner to experienced. Full day class.

3. Curves and Swerves - easy, fun. Make fabulous curved quilts. Sewing Machine is required. Class fee of $5.00. Full day class.

4. Mariner's Compass - very easy, all hand work, described as "Really Fun" by those that have done the Compass. Many sizes available. Half day.

5. Grandmother's Flower Garden - 4 sizes. Hand sewing. See issue 30, 1996, page 12, of Miniature Quilts magazine. Half day.

6. Garden Star - 3 sizes. Great for doll-house quilts. Hand sewing. Half day.

7. Apple Core - 3 sizes. Great for doll-house quilts. Hand sewing. Half day.

8. Circle of Hearts - all hand work, 2 sizes. Half day. See November '98, issue 39, pages 45-49, of Miniature Quilts magazine.

9. Diamond and Hex - easy, variety of sizes. Student can make Baby Blocks, Tumbling Blocks, Stars, plus many more. Hand sewing. Half day.

10. Giant Dahlia - 3 sizes, more advanced. Hand sewing. Half day.
