The best way to have the most fun in any group is to be
active. We all have different interests and abilities SSQA needs to be
successful.
Remember, a chairman's job is to see that something
gets done (with helpers) ... not do the entire job alone!
Here is how you can get involved as a
leader or helper:
Gather local news
about shows, winners, speakers, symposiums, etc. to send it to the
newsletter. Bring news and ideas from SSQA meetings back to the local
guild(s) by sharing newsletters, eRays information, etc. |
Hire teachers, scout locations,
plan special activities and fun for our biennial education event. This
event needs plenty of helpers! |
Be the contact & support person
for groups who will host a meeting! Help with questions and scheduling. |

Write some
articles, contribute information or send in pictures. Help with the
printing and mailing of the paper issues. |
Help us get the
word out about our activities through flyers, newspapers & magazines
and participating at quilting events. |
See the raffle
quilt through design and construction as the Quilt Mother.
As Quilt Nanny, take care of the raffle
quilt until it is won. Be sure the quilt is at all SSQA events and
displayed wherever possible to sell tickets & promote SSQA (transporting
the quilt is often done by a relay from member to member). |
Plan and lead
fund-raising activities, such as the raffle quilt and items for sale.
Assist guilds who
want to hold a Quilt Discovery Day, and be the keeper of the digitized
records until Florida quilt scan be added to the Quilt Index database. |
The chairman receives the grants
applications and the committee members meet to decide how the money is
awarded. |
Take pictures and
keep records of SSQA events. |
No doubt some
things have been missed. Create your own position to fill a need! |
