Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Pauline has been living in Florida for over 35 years. Published in three Sulky of America books on quilting, she won the 1993 Hoffmann Challenge Judges and Critics Award for a controversial quilt “The Smithsonian Phantom”. She, also, had quilts in Benartex, P & B Textile, and Tactile Architecture traveling exhibits. She has received many other awards including a 1st & Judges Choice in Houston for "Yard Tools" and "Opposites Attract" in 2001.

Pauline teaches machine appliqué and free hand quilting. She uses a blind stitch method and credits learning her techniques from those who have gone before her. Learning and adapting ideas to make them easier. “I always learn something when I take a class. Somebody, always knows something I don’t or they have a problem that makes me think. They expand my horizons. It is important for me to keep learning and hopefully get better at what I love to do.”

Threadz from Hell !!!

Won Best Wall Quilt in Denver 2006.

This quilt was therapy for thread that I bought.  Madeira said that while they knew the thread had problems they would not replace my 20+ spools of Jeweltones because I did not have a receipt.  So I soaked some of them in glue, cut  them up and sewed them to this quilt.
