See Sunnie's
Quilts below
Sunnie started to quilt by
designing a baby quilt for a friend. Half-way through the project, she decided
to buy a book and find out what to do! Since then she has pieced and appliquéd
too many quilts to count, continuing to learn more from books and classes.
Her first teaching experience was training Crisis Hotline volunteers, so she
considers quilt classes practically stress free. After joining the All Star
Quilters Guild in 1989, she began teaching on a regular basis, and has enjoyed
giving classes for guilds and shops around Florida and Ohio. Her classes cover a
wide range of techniques that appeal to quilters of all levels. Sunnie welcomes
everyone to her classes to make a fun project, expand skills, and develop
creativity. “If it’s not fun,” she says, ”it’s not worth doing!” Each student
leaves class with a complete handout, and all the steps are covered before the
class ends.
A Florida resident since 1981, Sunnie lives in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville
with her husband Ed, and Wizard the Cat. Her son Rob has moved out, so now
Sunnie has an office and a sewing room. She has served two terms as president of
the All Star Quilters, is currently the newsletter editor for the SSQA SunRays,
and collects weird pictorial fabrics (which allowed her win a Judge’s
Recognition Award at QuiltFest of Jacksonville)

RULES |

Know Thyself:
Some quilters like to work quickly; others enjoy taking their
time. Each person is encouraged to work at a comfortable
pace...and set personal levels of “perfection”.
There are no stupid questions:
The person sitting next to you is wondering the same thing. So
please ask!
You
haven’t been to class unless you have a paper to take home:
Handouts with complete instructions are provided for each class,
and all the steps are demonstrated before class ends
